Queen Mary sails under the Golden Gate Bridge
« on: February 05, 2007, 10:09:32 PM »
The Queen Mary 2 sailed under the iconic Golden Gate Bridge into San Francisco Bay yesterday, Feb 4, 2007.  Virtually dozens of media websites have both photo and video coverage of it - just do a google on it.  I looked at dozens of photos as well as video via www.yahoo.com.

The QM2 was greeted by thousands of spectators in the Golden Gate Bridge area and it appeared that well over 100 boats of various sizes greeted the liner as it sailed under the bridge.

The QM2 is touted as the largest ship to sail under the Golden Gate and it accomplished this feat with 27 feet to spare.

(My son lives in San Francisco but I think it would take a minor miracle to get him to photograph the ship for me!!!!!)
My blog with narrative and more photos is located at:

read the introduction and also there are about 5 different blogs of ships and railroads
