I understand that a salvage contract has been signed and work is underway to refloat the Mighty Servant 3.

After refloating, a detailed survey will be done, which will be decisive regarding the future of the MS3.

Smit Salvage has been contracted to raise the wreck. Before this a dredger has to be refloated by the "Taklift 7" which will then proceed to the wrecksite of the "Mighty Servant 3", so it will still take some time.

INFO FROM DOCKWISE SITE:

Issued on behalf of Dockwise, owners of the vessel

Dockwise has contracted SMIT Salvage to salvage the Mighty Servant 3. Dockwise has chosen Smit out of four competitors for their experience and the fact that they have equipment ready near the North Angolan coast where the vessel is resting at the sea bottom in approx. 53 meters of water after it sank on 6th of December 2006.

Over the last weeks SMIT Salvage already conducted a complete diving survey to investigate the situation and remove the vessel
