Car carrier DON CARLOS
« on: December 10, 2006, 07:10:49 PM »
Hi,

Today a colleague shipspotter noticed that the "Don Carlos" (IMO 9122655, Wallenius Wilhelmsen) now have a "EUKOR"-funnel and that "EUKOR" is painted on her hull. Does somebody knows more about it? Is she moving to EUKOR? I know that EUKOR is a subsidiarie of WWL.

greetz,

frederik

hi Frederik,

EUKOR is not (only) a subsidiary of Wallenius, but is jointly owned by Wilh.Wilhelmsen ASA, Wallenius AB, Hyundai Motor Company and Kia Motors Corporation.
dead slow ahead !  :-)
best regards, Klaus

Hi,

does any one know if Don Carlos is the only one, Can it be that also Don Pasquale was outsourced of the Wallenius Wilhelmsen Service and sails for EUKOR?
I don't find her at 2wglobal.com anymore.

Best regards Torben

Hi Torben,

When a WWL-vessel is sailing from the Far-East towards Europe it is never listed in the WWL-schedules. In Zeebrugge the WWL-vessels are handled by Sea-Ro Terminal (were I work) except when the vessel is comming back from the Far-East, then the vessels are handled by CTO. If they come back from the Far-East you can't find anything back in the WWL-schedules and after the call in Zeebrugge they sail to Antwerp or Rotterdam or Malm

Frederik and Torben,
I checked out the WW sites today and was gobsmacked that there is not a shiplist for either the Wallenius Whilhelmsen PCC's, nor the Eurakor PCC,s.!!@!
Do you know what gives?
Or can you point me in the right direction.
Every week or so one vessel of either company pass by my place in or out of Brisbane.
Regards
David D.

Hi,

I just have received some information from Wallenius Lines about the Don Carlos. EUKOR is leasing the Don Carlos for 5 months. There is a great chance EUKOR will lease another Wallenius Lines vessel.

Great to hear that EUKOR sailing whit one or two WW vessels, there has not been one of the Green Car Carriers here in Fredericia the last 5 years, they moved to Malmo when Toyota moved all import of cars to scandinavia to the big terminal in Sweden. It is always the "same" ASIAN or MORNING vessels coming here to Fredericia. Hope to see some new.

Yes Klaus,
I have visited all of those sites:-
Wallenius seems to have shut down..."Can't find Server",only response.
WW. site is OK good--list incl. newbuildings.
EUKOR. nice colorful site, will probably impress the MD and the Sales Dept, but no mention of their Ships!!No List!!No Names!!No Pics!!
I find this quite extraordinary.
Obviously no pride of ownership any more.

Hi David,

I have no problems to reach the Wallenius site (Walleniuslines.com). Just visited.
I also can't find a vessellist on the EUKOR site. If you wanna know how a car carrier is handled, if you wanna see the interior of a car carrier you can find it on their site. But a vessellist... Does someone know how many vessel they have?

Hi Frederik,

im also disappointed about the sites of especially EUKOR and ARC, too. There are no vessellists, so the main impement of the shipping companys are not presented to the people and customers. Are vessels a secret?
The ARC site also looks like doing by an bloody rookie in web design!
As I knew EUKOR operates 85 vessels by themselves, more than 15 another vessels are in short time charter. Here is a link for further information:
