With the pandemic and the cruising shutdown causing Pullmantur Cruises and Birka Cruises to go bankrupt, there are other cruise lines that could be next and P&O Cruises Australia is one of them. It was founded in 2001 and currently has three vessels: Pacific Dawn, Pacific Aria, Pacific Explorer. The First two vessels I mentioned have already been sold to CMV Cruises, but the Pacific Explorer is currently for sale. The cruise line also plans to receive from Princess Cruises the Golden Princess and the Star Princess by 2021 as the Pacific Adventure and the Pacific Encounter respectively. If P&O Cruises Australia goes bankrupt, what will happen to the vessels. Would the Pacific Dawn and the Pacific Aria still join CMV or will the transfer be cancelled? Would the Pacific Explorer be sold to another cruise line, rejoin Princess Cruises, or be scrapped? And what about the Golden Princess and the Star Princess? If they don't get transferred, would Princess keep the vessels or sell them for scrap. It's worrisome to think about it, but with this pandemic, we can only watch and hope for the best.
