Haksolok ferry to Timor Leste
(1/1)
Ricardo:
The new ferry under construction (over 3 years) in Portugal to Timor Leste. Haksolok means Happiness in Tetum language. Really it is the steel from abandoned construction of "Anticiclone", a car ferry that was under construction for Portugal but denied by Azores Authorities, the islands here it was destined.

davidships:
Interesting, Ricardo
ANTICICLONE was building as IMO 9434072 - but I suppose that not enough of that was used in HAKSOLOK, which has IMO 9830446.
Memories of the saga ATLANTIS, her original intended running-partner - rejected by the Azores Government as not meeting contractual performance, a failed purchase by Hugo Chavez, accusations of corrupt purchase by a Portuguese company (bought for about half the amount received on sale four months later) - then eventual sale to Hurtigruten as SPITSBERGEN.

Ricardo:
David is true.
Atlantida was a big story in Portuguese ship construction. Fortunately he found a good destination in Hurtigruten.
When Anticilone was denied, the steel was selled, and are used in this ship. I heard that they didn't use the blocks of the ship, but only the steel of them in this construction. The truth is that this ship is very similar to Anticilone.
Ricardo:
This new from a reference newspaper in economy, confirms what was written in blog post.
