Shipscrapping

Good afternoon,

I have a question,

I was told that there is a German site about shipbreaking.
It's really actual so really of interest to me and maybe other members.

Is there anybody who knows this site.
The only thing I know is that it's called abwracken or something like this and that mr. Gert Uwe Detflefsen is a contributor or member of this site.

Maybe somebody can help me?

Hello Peter,

Thanks for the info, I will send him a mail to ask about it.

I'm interested becasue nowadays a lot of former Maersk/MSC vessels are beiing scrapped and also some tugs/supply vessels.
I use the info for my personal database of Maersk and MSC.
Since 1992 I'm building databases of the total Maersk/MSC fleet and I try to keep them up to date.

Speaking of abwracken: Tradewinds is reporting that Rickmers Maritime Trust has sold its INDIA RICKMERS, a 4,250 TEU container ship from 2009(!) for scrap.

A sad new record, I think.

By the way, she is better known as the HANJIN NEWPORT. IMO 9404194
