SHIP FUNNELS Amended Rules & Guidelines
« on: July 26, 2012, 05:54:52 PM »

The Rules and Guidelines for the Ship Funnel and Sub Category have been Amended.

http://www.shipspotting.com/support/faq.php?category=Shipping%20company%20funnel%20markings

I think that they are self explanatory but just by way of explaining the main changes, the rule on them being deleted has been changed in that a photograph is not now deleted if another one is uploaded, if it is good quality and meets the requirements for the category it will remain on the website, if any other photographs are uploaded of the same Company/Manager they will be rejected, as it states in the rules we only require one funnel to be shown.

It is possible that an even better one might be uploaded in which case the one on the website will be superseded, that will only happen if this occasion arises.

We are tightening up on the 50% of the frame rule, this is a specialised category and the funnels need to reflect that and should be seen at their best in order that this can become a category of reference as well as of interest.

These changes will be implemented on August 1st 2012 but some already on the website may be deleted because the 50% rule was also in place under the old Rules & Guidelines.

I am glad to have appropriate information about amended rules and guidelines about ship funnels at this platform. I would be looking for more suitable details and pictures right here.

to all

do I interprete the rules right that when a funnel is already on this site by another
member, a new uploaded funnel will be automatic deleted ?
Also,, all previously uploaded funnel pictures, which do not comply with the new rule will be deleted too ?  Seemingly that,s what happens because I loose more and more funnel pictures.

If, so,,that should than be for all ships, If the EMMA MAERSK is already 250 times on the site, should then not be all but one be deleted ?
The other big thing, If I upload a ship picture under todays rules, and the rules changing
then it will be deleted automatic too, which means the efforts of years of uploading is wiped out with one klick ?

Somehow this does not work out from my point of view.

hi ken
then we have a total different view on the subject
I send you a answer mail, don,t want to spread it open.
Question
Is there a way to delete all pictures of one section with one stroke ?
Waiting now that all my funnel pictures are now deleted one by one as it happens now I might do that by myself or tell the new ADM to delete that section of my pictures all at one time.

On the subject of ships funnels is there a quick and easy way to search for photos? I assumed one put say the ship manager's name in the ship name field and searched on that, but I am not sure. Is this the best option or is there another way?

The particular ship manager I am looking for at the moment is Tipco Asphalt Bangkok, Thailand.

Thanks
Andrew

trouble with 'Ships Funnels' is that a lot of posts have the ships name and not the owners/managers.

That will make it pretty hard to search for sure.

Hi Andrew, there is no logo of the company you mentioned on the site, so please go ahead and upload.

trouble with 'Ships Funnels' is that a lot of posts have the ships name and not the owners/managers.

Allan

Thanks for this note Allan, I went through all the ~2,100 photos and edited the ~20 which were uploaded with ships' names.

Cheers,
Aleksi
