River Fal laid-up ships
« on: March 29, 2015, 08:24:48 PM »
Spending a week in my old county of Cornwall and would like to take photos of any ships that are laid-up at King Harry Ferry. Does anybody know whats there at present and where I can get up to date information on the actual day.

Thanks in advance,

Dave Gallie (gwrdave).
New Zealand.

PS Took photos way back in the 1960s of Shaw Savilles ships and the Franconia and Carmania, photos on site.

After a busy spell last year, the river is virtually empty at the moment, only with DONA AMELIA, a yacht on the moorings off Tolverne (old Smugglers Cottage).
Any movements are usually reported on the Falmouth Harbour website, see: http://www.falmouthport.co.uk/commercial/html/movement.php

Have a good time in Cornwall,
Krispen

Thanks Krispen,

Will go down anyway as there is a god tearoom/restaurant there.

You may find the tea shop is closed, it certainly was last summer but hopefully someone may have taken it on by now
Have a good trip

Maybe later in the year some of the reefers might return?

Preparing for a trip last year to see the ships laid up there, I received great help from numerous kind people who are also active here on shipspotting.

Here ist last year's situation:

Thanks Oliver,
Will only have a chance in May/June so may miss any opportunity.
