MS Magellan
« on: March 14, 2015, 07:07:17 AM »
Hi,
MS Magellan of Cruise & Maritime Voyages was named on 11th march. I noticed that her Lifeboats are still of the old type, namely not covered. It was my understanding that as of SOLAS 2010 all Passenger ships must have covered Lifeboats. Has that regulation been amendet later, can any one provide respective literature? I checked IMO, MSC, USCG but could not find relevant infos. many thanks.
Locarno

Hi Locarno

I don't know what the regulations require, but I was on a cruise on Saga Sapphire 2 weeks ago and she still had open lifeboats.
