Hi all.
I am seeking to buy a book about post war oil tankers.
Something about the story of the VLCC and ULCC, their owners such as Ludwig etc.
The race to build the biggest.
About the changing economy and what led them to been laid up.
Am looking for something with plenty of pictures and text also.
Not really interested in a book about one particular company.
So far I have found 2 books both from the same publisher.
And was wondering if anyone can recommend a book that would meet my requirements or indeed if anyone has these books and could recommend either of them.
http://www.witherbyseamanship.com/supertankers-anatomy-and-operation.htmlhttp://www.witherbyseamanship.com/tankers-an-introduction-to-the-transportation-of-oil-by-sea.htmlThe first book looks tempting at over 600 pages but am afraid it might be too technical and aimed at colleges etc.
too like a textbook
So, many thanks in advance for any tips.
P.S I wouldn't ask, but there are very few reviews of these books to make a choice.
P.P.s Please nothing TOO expensive, also.
