Tees Photo Locations

(1/1)

Blaine:
Good Evening all, New member to the site here.

I have had an interest in Shipping for a long while and I am fortunate to live in between the River Tyne and the River Wear.  I am looking to take a trip down to Teeside to get some ship pictures and was just wondering on the best locations to take pictures.

Thanks

Blaine

I would probably try the Seaton Carew road A178 you can get a reasonable shot of the Tees entrance. hope this helps.

Probably the best place is the lighthouse at South Gare. All ships entering or leaving pass this point. At this time of year the sun is OK for photography until mid afternoon, I go there regularly and find a 70 x 300 zoom lens is ideal. Sth Gare is easy to find, head for Redcar and turn left at the roundabout and go along the road alongside the steelworks about three miles, plenty of parking and usually a few ship spotters there. Just a note, it is very exposed and the wind can be very strong causing problems with camera shake. But go along and enjoy!!
