GUTHORM MAERSK ex Marit Maersk
« on: April 30, 2014, 10:20:18 PM »
Just a quick question regarding the GUTHORM MAERSK renamed from Marit Maersk. Its has twice gone into shipyards in China in the last six months I was just wondering whether anyone has heard if it has had any major incident with this boat to make it go into a shipyard for a second time

Regards,

Don.

You never will hear something on that,, if Maersk protects something perfectly,,it,s when their ships have problems.  Nothing wrong with that,,,they are really pros on that
NOW!!!,,,if we could get rid of the sailors,,how safe shipping would be !!!!!!!!

Maersk has a big retrofit program ongoing, whereby improvements are made on existing ships, such as new bulb stems, raising the superstructure (in order to carry an extra layer of boxes), fitting new propellers, that kind of stuff. Most of that work is done in Chinese yards.
