different IMO numbers Hydrograaf

A lot of different IMO numbers for this ship exposed on this site!

http://www.shipspotting.com/gallery/search.php?search_title=HYDROGRAAF

I thought a ship could only have 1...OR none, but not 3 AND none

Hi @ll,
this HYDROGRAAF was built in 1910 as a research vessel and 1983 cv to ferry, It has a Miramar ID 8650796 but no IMO, the MMSI of the ship is 244670863

Hi Allan,

So I guess it comes down to which is the most reliable source - I think I'd prefer to go with Equasis.

Cheers,
David

Hi David,
if she has an IMO it would be stated on the official site ITU

Fair enough, although I'm pretty sure that she does have an IMO I don't have any experience of using that site so I'm not prepared to say that they're incorrect.

David

It could be one of those vessels that have both IMO and ENI numbers, there are quite a number.  But the IMO given suggests it was given in the mid-80's, and she certainly does not figure in my 1989/90 LR.

Equasis information is sourced from IHS Fairplay - the organisation that issues IMO numbers. Therefore if Equasis has an IMO number, it is usually correct.

There is just one other problem with this vessel, and that is that she is NOT a steamship.

According to Binnenvaart she is powered by 2 MAN diesels which replaced the original steam engines in 1985.   Also see web-site www.hydrograaf.nl/ and also the Dutch Wikipedia site on the vessel which gives a full history.

On the IMO, you're right Phil, but she still has an ENI number.

It has an IMO number with Lloyds/Sea-Web/IHS.
