Photography skills.
« on: February 27, 2014, 10:44:05 PM »
Hello,
Just wanted to say, in my time on the site, I'm blown away by the photography skills of you lot. It's amazing !

I can only capture vessels if I'm standing on the shore which is basic boring stuff, usually side on or on a cruise but some of the angles you guys manage is pure genius. You've really helped me identify my weak points, of which there are many.

One of my biggest problems has been wind.

I must invest in an easily erected tripod. Any ideas? Universal cheap one's would be a bonus.

Thanks again,

Regards,

 Hi Matty!

 I PM you!

You from my angle and your postings have all the elements to go to the top best shipspotters!

At first we get very many grey images as we focus on the subject and less on the light. Photoshop  and Raw captions  helps to get more colours and contrasts. Stabilised  and fast lens if you can spare are the easy  answer. For sharpness speed is most important. A tripod is never the less better with large zooms for it allows one to use both hands to change the settings.
