A mystery vessel heading up the Thames yesterday
« on: November 05, 2013, 12:24:15 PM »
Sorry to bother but I noticed the vessel (see attachments) heading up the Thames yesterday. Is anyone able to identify the vessel for me please.

Many thanks in advance ~ Mike

I don't know if I have done the atatchments OK.  Hopefully if they are clicked on the whole picture become visible?

As you know Mike, there are a good few Thames spotters on here, I guess you will get an answer soon enough !

Certainly an interesting vessel, the last few visible letters of the name suggests Norwegian, Swedish or Danish and she looks to be maybe a converted or still working small inland cargo vessel.

Looking forward to finding out the answer just the same as you.

Cheers, Dan.

Hi Mike,

That is the 'SIGFJELL' 91 g.t. built by Rosenberg at Stavanger in 1914.

She's had some more white paint since July
They didn't find the missing "L", unless her name has actually been changes to SIGFJEL.

I wonder where she's fetched up?
