Wreck of the Ark Royal
« on: February 11, 2006, 07:42:04 PM »
There is a TV program on Sunday 12th February 2006 on UK BBC 1 at 8pm ( 2000hrs ) on the discovery and outboard exploration of the wreck of the Ark in the Medi.

I have seen a preview and it looks promising.

She is classed as a War Grave as one person lost their life and is still on board, so only the outside of her has been filmed.

Chris.
As one door closes another one shuts, it must be the wind.

Hello Chris

I unfortunately missed the programme. Hopefully it will be repeated soon on BBC3 or BBC4.
When the Ark Royal sank, the city of Leeds (UK) paid most of the money to have a new carrier to be built. The city of Leeds then adopted the new Ark Royal. I believe they still adopt susequent named carriers :pint:
regards Glencairn :-) :pint:
