Does any one know anything about the tanker Champion 1 believed to be in the Yemen/Doha area.

According to various sources: Champion 1 (IMO 7908914) is ex Napht Al-Yemen 11, Jet Tanker, Dragon Regal, Man O'Steel, Stainless Supporter, Shoko Maru

No trace of a Shang Yang.

Thanks Phil, I work in the salvage, wreck removal, oil response business and I understand that a few days ago she was having problems and there has been some high level discussions about what to do with her. All enquiries I have made through many sources have not come up with any information.

Yes - she suffered an engine failure and went aground at the Yemeni port of Mukalla on the 13th July.

There's a lot of information about this this incident on the Lloyds List Casualty reports. I would suggest that you take a look there.
