S.S.Nooltan 1941
« on: January 03, 2013, 06:38:21 PM »
A record of my father in laws, crossing the line ceremony, on a troopship in 1941, has surfaced after the death of his wife and the subsequent clearing of personal effects.
It was issued by the Master of the S.S. Nooltan (possibly Mooltan) 15/10/1941.
I would like to get a picture of the ship and identify it, but so far have drawn a blank. Can anybody help with my task please?

Hello John,

I suggest you try Gordy Ross. He's an Australian with a large number of restored B/W pictures. Just mention I referred you to him. His e-mail address is [email protected]
Good luck !

Robert.

Here's a link to a handful of photos of SS Mooltan:

Aaahh! she's a fine looking ship.
Another small piece of our family history to put into place.
Thankyou to all of you who helped with my search. It's a shame I didn't know about the ship a few years earlier, when I could have shown everybody whilst John was still alive. Such is the way of life.
I managed to read her history on Wikipedia. Seemed quite a lucky ship with a happy life....unlike my own last ship, MV Vergmont.
