SD14 in European waters....
« on: November 12, 2012, 10:10:19 AM »
MARPESSA E is currently in Piraeus Roads with destination:ORDERS.
Could there be one more voyage for this SD14?
(see photos of her by Phil English at Las Palmas on 19 Oct 2012)

Some life left in this old SD14!

Hi there!
She has just passed annual survey at 13. November 2012. Maybe (hopefully) we can see her a little bit longer trading.

Stefan

There is a rumor that Marpessa E. will be scrapped, or she will be scrapped within a few time. Can someone verify this rumor please? No matter how hard I tried to find a scrap report I failed.

Thank You in Advance

D.

Hi Django!
The last AIS signal which i found was south of Suez at 22nd of december 2012. POD was Hodeidah, Yemen. The Russian Register shows her still as "in Service".
That's all so far.
Brgds,
Stefan

Understand she is currently anchored off Fujiarah - with destination of 'orders'. With her being there (a popular place for handover for final voyage), I sense the end may be near!

Seanav's comments sound authoritative - it's the "we" in "we could not hold on to her", perhaps.  Anyway, let's see.

If it is to be so, then she will a credit to the whole class - and to Phocean Ship Agency.  She will arrive with a clean hull, apparently in excellent condition and with Class fully up-to-date and with no recommendations.  A Port State inspection at Hodeidah was virtually clean.

As of yesterday ISR Fariplay have her as still in service, no notation yet to be broken up, which they put in red.

IHS Fairplay are behind the times Chris. Other data providers already have her in their demolition lists.
