I must admit, that I never paid too much attention to yachts, but since there are some examples here, and it is also true, that yachts are about the only ships that are not built to earn money, but for pleasure and the owners have taken beauty in  mind as well.

So, I must say the one below - definitely looking cool ! Looking speedy, and no extra-clutter and a difference from all the bright white ships :-) It only lacks an AIDA cruises style mouth  :-*

The really large ones often look like something from James Bond movies ('So ve mit again Meester Bond') or like small cruise ships and are often very impressive ships.

John
also when the Britannia was owned by the Queen, I never considered her as a "private yacht"  as in millonaires play toys like the Christina O. or the Steel and such, however
she was a fine sight under full colors !!!!

Be careful what you say, Ted - even if you are joking or talking tongue-in-cheek - about yachts being rich men's toys or you will be branded as "ignorant and ill-informed".

I was quite happy to see the relegation of HMY BRITANNIA to being a Scottish tourist attraction because she was an old, inefficient, steamship financed by about 26 million British taxpayers for the benefit of about about half-a-dozen people. I was one of the 26 million taxpayers or 60 million Brits who were never allowed with a hundred yards of the ship when she was in service.
This me being tongue-in-cheek again - and totally cynical

My favourite yacht is my own which amazingly I worked 45 years for  :) and not from with money gained from either criminal activities, despotic, corrupt regimes or exploitation of working people.

My second favourite yacht has to be Nahlin, what's the connection between the two?

They both have a 'pedigree second to none' as they were both designed by G L Watson & Co
