Historic Warships, Birkenhead.

Last week it was announced that the ships making up the Historic Warships at Birkenhead is to be closed for good on the 5th February. This is because the warehouses next to the quay are being made into luxury flats and the developer does not want them to spoil the view!!
The collection includes one of original four U-boats in the world that can be accessed by the public the U534. Space has been offered in other nearby locations for a short period but it would entail a further move in about 18 months time. This is a financial burden the preservation trust cannot bear and they have therefore gone into receivership. In any case there was no provision for the U534 in either location; the cost alone of moving the U532 is put at
