Cracks found in Algarrobo in Auckland.

The vessel Algarrobo currently berthed in Auckland is to return to Asian empty having suffering hull cracking in a storm off the Australian coast.
She was 48hrs late arriving in Auckland from Asia and arrived here with serious cracks in 13/15deck. The cracks are in the coamings on both sides of the vessel. They are large enough to put your finger in. We started a complete discharge of the vessel overnight, and the plan is for her to return to a shipyard in Asia for repair. Not sure if any temporary repairs will be done in Auckland before sailing.
Containers were also damaged on 01 deck. (This ship has no fo'csle.)

According to the POAL shipping schedule she is leaving early tomorrow morning. Don't suppose you managed to get any shots of the crack did you?

I see the POAL schedule now has her shifting to Wynard Wharf I'm guessing for quick repairs so I will upload a image of her tomorrow.

But can tell you they aren't a good look.
