Shipspotting in Hamburg

Can anyone give me some tips on good places to watch ships along the Elbe? Have previously stayed in Brunsbuettel, but would like to find a place closer to Hamburg, though not in Hamburg itself. Ideal would be a place where you can watch from your car.

There is a place appr. halfway up the river Elbe between Cuxhaven and Hamburg, it's called L

You could also try Stadersand near Stade. There you also can watch from your car...

There are many excellent places along the Elbe on the North Shore between Hamburg and Wedel. Just take your car from Hamburg and take the "Elbchaussee" to go west.
