This looks like an article which appeared in UK tabloid newspaper The Daily Mail. However, there is no such official announcement of a salvage being agreed.

Make of that what you will.

I got from the Irish daily star and sky news is reporting it on the news website as well. Looks like it will be going ahead.

some news, given that the officials have already indicated that cutting up the ship in situ was not an option. Since the ship cannot fly, it will have to be righted and towed.

Maybe in China. I recall reading somewhere that the Costa Concordia cost around 500 million euros.

The stricken cruise liner COSTA CONCORDIA is to be righted and will be reflotated, in what will be the biggest operation of its kind ever seen. Teams of engineers will work around the clock seven days a week for a year in the €225 operation which is expected to start in may, four months after the liner struck rocks and capsizing leaving 32 dead, with two bodies still unaccounted for. The ship is currently lying at an angle of 80 degrees, just outside the entrance to giglio harbour, an island off the coast of Italy on Friday 13th of January.

You can watch 2 live web cams here:- (best viewed in daylight!) should be interesting in months to come.

I find it interesting that the tender was awarded to Titan Salvage. This company tried to remove the much smaller wreck of the RORO "Vinca Gorthon" from the Dutch coast during 2010-2011. One sailor was killed during that operation and a lot of salvage material was lost before Titan abandoned the project. Keeping my fingers crossed .....

I guess there are not that many companies that can undertake a wreck removal operation of such scale. Titan has quite a lot of experience from that kind of jobs.

it is all about planing. Often are different salvage companies working together.
To get the best result. Last year at the "Jupiter 1" wreck removal in Mexico even four of the leading Salvage companies where working together to get it done. Guess also here Titan will not do the complete operation alone.Maybe some sharing of workers and equipment ,...
