According to the "Seawaves" website the new Holland class offshore patrol vessel HOLLAND (P840) is due to visit Greenwich on the 14th March and also Amsterdam on the same day  ???. I wonder who will win?

If she leaves Amsterdam on the 14th she could be in  Greenwich later that day?
She looks very fast, but she only does 20 knots.

Was intrigued and a bit of surfing on twitter and the net came across news of the temporary return of the 'Stern of the Royal Charles' to Greenwich Maritime Museum. One forum on the net and a tweet mentioned it would travel aboard the Holland. All rumours I suppose but could be true ??
(A link to a page I found about the Stern of the Royal Charles on the net is on my blog at http://thamesvessels.blogspot.com)

Regards
Steve
Why not take a look at my blog "SHIPS AND BOATS IN LONDON". It's my take on the river traffic in the City.

The 'stern piece' in dutch called 'Spiegel' translate from Mirror, an elaborate woodcarving pirated from the English will be permanently returned to England.
Most likely from an Admirals ship of the line, it maybe as the Admiral looked out of the stern he sees the reflection in water, hence 'spiegel gezicht' or Mirror image, my best take on the story. Prince Alexander of the Neth. also aboard will officially return the pirates price as a friendship gesture.

According to the Dutch news, the stern will only be returned temporarily.
