Less ships sold for scrap in 2005

According to Allied Shipbroking of Piraeus 184 ships -5,6 Mio tdw- were sold for scrap worldwide up to mid December 2005. This is nearly half of the 2004 figures: 348 ships -10,6 Mio tdw. Highest number of ships sold for scrap was reported in 1999: 620 ships - 30,3 Mio tdw.
