Spanish fishing boat - information needed
« on: January 31, 2011, 09:27:57 PM »
Can someone please tell me where I can find information on the type of fishing boat shown in the attached photos? I believe that it is Spanish but need additional information - where was this type to be found, what was the fish it mainly caught, typical crew numbers etc.

Hello, Geoffrey... You're right, this is a spanish traditional fishing boat type, used in coastal waters and named 'llaud' (also 'llaut').

Tipically used in Balearic Islands, Catalonia and other mediterranean waters, they only had a latin sail.

Currently, there are several yards (Menorquin, MYABCA, Capeador, Majoni...) that build them, for recreational boating.

I'll try to find further information.
