She will go to Rotterdam first discharge part Cargo, restricted draft in Solent. Fawley ETA dependent on how long she is at Rotterdam but heard rumour should arrive 6 July. Just like waiting for a bus, no VLCCs for ages then two arrive.

VTS showing 10/7/11 but as according to MarineTraffic still in Gulf and ETA Rotterdam 10/8/11 I guess must be a Typo on VTS behalf. Hope still arrive at Fawley, will know a little nearer the date.

I think the chances of seeing BW Edelweiss at Fawley on the 9th are somewhere between slim and bugger all.
This morning, she was still at anchor some 40 or 50 miles off Rotterdam and I don't think there is much chance she will get in to Rotterdam, discharge and then leg it down to Fawley in the space of the next 72 hours.

It seems she has turned her AIS off, not showing up on marine traffic. Not sure how it works but remember reading somewhere that tankers full of oil steam around awaiting a rise in the cost of oil before discharging and at the moment the cost of oil is rising??  ???
:-o ...

True a few years ago when oil and product prices were low, quite a few ships would anchor off shore loaded awaiting someone to buy cargo and prices to climb. ie Southwold. But prices are good at the moment so don't think this would go on as much as it did a few years ago.
Most tankers anchor off shore because there refinery hasn't a berth free or the refinery hasn't room for there cargo, ie Fawley ships anchor at Nab or smaller ones at St Helens simply for reason there isn't a berth available, the refinery hasnt room for there cargo or prehaps there outbound cargo hasn't been produced. In the case of the BW Edelweiss because of its size i would  guess its available berths are limited and it is even possible that it may conduct Ship to Ship operations.

Well, there she goes.
Shortly after lunchtime she left the anchorage and is now passing the Hook of Holland.
You never know, it may still make the evening tide on Saturday.
