Can anyone say what the story behind this is

I am sure someone with more knowledge (Coatham where are you!!!) will reply soon but in the mean time I will add what bit I know.

She was a British Rail ferry who then became a floating night club. Sister Ship Tuxedo Princess. Able UK bought her and berthed her on the Tees then transferred her to the basin with the ghost ships. Before they closed the gate to drain it and scrap the Ghosts and Clemenceau they took the Tux out and berthed her on the river by the Transporter bridge. Since then she has been vandalised and taken on water and is in the sorry state seen in the picture.

The former ferry Caledonian Princess was a floating night club. She was built in 1965 as the stern loading ferry for the Dover-Calais service, but became Earl Siward after convertion in 1977/78.There are plans to bring the ship back to Kent for restoration. From an article in Ships Monthly.
