Svitzer Trym seems to be on her way. According to a Dutch passenger, the first engine exploded 2 days ago. Toilets aren't working anymore and people just pea in the corners and the whole ship stinks like hell.

Have fun ;-)

Now under tow of SVITZER TRYM for Nynashamn at 6kn, ETA late morning Monday.  Looks as if she was picked up after drifting quite close to Gotland coast, near Visby.

Looks as if wedish Coastguard KBV 287 was in attendance.

11.50 hrs GMT, passenger interviewed by BBC live. Passengers don't know exactly which Swedish port they are off. Ferry boat is attempting to evacuate passengers who believe they will be airlifted at 1830 hours from Stockholm. Next cruise for the Opera has been cancelled.

guys
just wait when the first big passenger ship with 4-5000 paxe burns and  "oh surprise" the highly trained crew does not know what to do.
then the real finger pointing starts.
NOW!!!,,,if we could get rid of the sailors,,how safe shipping would be !!!!!!!!

It was happening with the Carnival Splendor some months ago. The ship Hi-Fog system failed, the CO2 release failed and only a lot of luck helped the technical crew (Deck & Engine Firesquads) to put under control the fire. Do you remember the quick arrival of the US Navy aircraft carrier close to the ship? And the critic about what type of food was transferred by helicopters to the ship? In reality it was in stand by to collect the persons from lifeboats in case of abandon ship, while the "food" was a sort of cover-operation performed with what was onboard the aircraft carrier at the moment!

Everything went almost ok!
