Yes, it is now confirmed that she was sold 'as is' Port Klang for $310/LDT - in other words, approximately $12 million.

That's a lot of cash and sadly a price that any potential trading or preservation buyer is unlikely to match.

If you know India, you know that the government can say one thing and breakers/industry is still doing wathever they want to!! And it also depending on what state the ship is going to! India is a living nightmare when arriving with a ship.

Intresting that Star have sold her for this much when NCL would not settle on anything less than $20mil.

What are the chances of someone making the breaker and offer?

Rumours are already circulating that she is to be resold to buyers interested in using her as a floating casino. To quote today's tradewinds journal; "The scrap market is very confused over the issue"

Watch this space.

Phil,

if I remember right this was already reported ( as rumour) nearly one year ago, before she left Bremerhaven in May.
Newspapers reported that obviously she would be towed to Amsterdam - to become a floating casino.
dead slow ahead !  :-)
best regards, Klaus

Correct, but this is a new rumour. As reported last week, she has been sold by Star Cruise 'as is' Port Klang for $310/ldt. This is without doubt. The speculation surrounds the buyer and their intentions regarding the vessel.

Hi to all of you

Here in France the journalists start to talk of the scrapping of our great France/Norway.
The ship will leave Port Kelang to CHITTAGONG in few weeks.

Two days ago I received a false rumour(I think):
The author told that the scrapping yard sold her to Indian buyers to converted her in Casino, but I THINK IT's wrong,it's the end for my beloved ship.

Indian doesn't accept the Clemanceau, she will back in France I think.

regards
Lucas
