Margaret Hill
« on: January 25, 2011, 01:50:27 PM »
Does anybody know for certain the fate of the Margaret Hill?
I saw on AIS that she was heading east in the Mediteranean on 17th December 2009 and there was talk of her going to Dubai for conversion into a re-liquification or storage vessel.  I kept my eye on AIS around Dubai for a while with no news but I did hear from some source that she became SS Chill and was possibly going to India for demolition. Any definate news would be welcome.

Hi John

She was renamed Chill under the flag of Comoros,(call sign D6FP8) -  the last info. I have is that she was heading for Xinhui in China, 04:2010, for breaking, but I don't have an arrival date.

Thanks for your help everyone.
Sad for me as I stood by her in the builders and did the maiden voyage. I was also able to visit whilst in Southampton 35 years later.
