Shipspotting in Southampton
« on: December 25, 2010, 10:50:20 AM »
I am hoping to visit Southampton in January and would be most grateful if members could advise on the best locations for viewing the container and cruise terminals. Looking at maps it would appear that good views can also be obtained from Marchwood ?

Alan
The area around Marchwood is home to a military port except for Cracknore Hard Lane leading to Husbands shipyard area, and you will be watched.

So if you do go down that area just be aware of what you are photographing.

Hi,

If you drive along the road from Cracknore Hard, you will find a small housing estate from which you can get excellent views of the container port.  The road is called Admiralty Way.

Regards,
David.
