Wallenius Wilhelmsen have chartered the "Endurance" IMO 9121273 for their Round the World schedule, from Manzanillo calling into NZ and Australia. She used to be their vessel "Taronga" until 2010. She is now painted blue.

I see that MSC Monica is due in Tauranga on 12th October to load. Perhaps she will be taking the containers from the stricken Rena?

The MSC Monica is now not on the Port of Tauranga schedule. If they are going to transfer the containers they will need to charter a crane barge as neither vessel has any deck cranes I read that Svitzer have been apointed to help with the salvage so maybe they will bring a crane over with them.

Due to the high demand for cargo to Fiji, Pacific Forum Line have chartered the "MCP Villach", IMO 9520493 to do a one off voyage to Lautoka and Suva.

Pacific Direct Line have ditched the idea of having their own dedicated vessel on the Tahiti run. From 1st November they will revert to chartering slots on Maersk's "Yellow Moon".

Swire Shipping are in a nostalgic mood. They intend to rename four vessels with those used in the 1960s by China Navigation Company Ltd.
Tasman Endeavour will become "Kweichow".
Tasman Provider will become "Kwangtung".
Tasman Commander will become "Kweilin".
Tasman Mariner will become "Kwangsi"

That is fantastic news, now if only we can start to get rid of stupidity such as MOL that, MSC this, ER something else.
It'll help restore my faith in shipping co management.
