MV Highlanders (ex MV Stena Traveller)
« on: December 03, 2010, 10:10:20 PM »
I'm wondering if the MV Stena Traveller is in Bremerhaven yet?? I've seen she's still in service between Hoek Van Holland and Killingholme but she's due out of service soon.  I decided to start this one as the ship is being retrofitted since the other discussion on the Stena Trader (now renamed Blue Puttees) turned into Marine Atlantic criticism (I don't want any criticism over Marine Atlantic on this discussion please, only updates on the MV Highlanders).

No, the Stena Traveller is still in the Hook of Holland in service. She is due to go to Bremerhaven very shortly. I'll keep you posted as to when she goes.

Hi, You got me a little bit confused here. Marine Atlantic are chartering Stena Traveller and Stena Trader.

The other ships mentioned before have nothing to do with these ships. The Stena Hollandica and Britannica had been lengthend and have now being renamed. Stena has two Newbuildings now with the same names. But none of them is going to canada.

Jarrod had asked which ship was replacing Stena Traveller when she was removed from service ...
thats kinda how the thread migrated a bit to the Hollandica and the Britannica

These photos are two different ships. The one at sea is the current Stena Hollandica. She wasn't stetched. The one showing the ship in bits is the last Stena Britannica, showing her being lengthened in Bremerhaven in 2007. She is currently in refit, in Poland being converted to run opposite the Stena Germanica (ex Stena Hollandica). She'll be renamed Stena Scandinavioca.

The ship replacing the Stena Traveller will be the Finnarrow. She'll stay on the route until the first ship from Korea gets here.
