On Channel 1 TVNZ News tonight 18-8-10  they report crew picked up
by Amaltal Atlantis, and accompanied by a photo taken @ Nelson by Yevgeniy Belka and My own photo taken @ Lyttelton, which appear on this site.Talk about a breach of copyright,No one asked my permission for it too be used on TV or did I see my name credited too the photo.
I know this subject always raises it's ugly head,But I don't agree that our photos should be so easily taken from here.
                                       Regards:Wayne ( Skain )

Well, you lament about your photos. I think of the sailors lost on sea who should be mourned.

Jon,
A complaint had already been made.As if they would give a toss.
Most of us are not in this for the money, but some recognition would go a long way
I'll let you's know the outcome.

Crikey SOMEONE has too be careful what they say or how they say it on here,
Tim, Gerry do you not think that in the first instance if SOMEONE was listening & watching  news bulletins that are covered very intensely here on Radio, TV & Newspapers that they wouldn't care about the sailors & the Rescuers.?  Or perhaps we'll just take that for granted

Hey guys. As an ex fisherman myself I are grieving for those guys who were lost. I have a personal connection with this event as the last vessel I worked on was the Amaltal Atlantis and know many of the crew. I had a very sleepless night the night of the event thinking how they would deal with this horrific event. I know most of our captains were on first name basis with other captains on these foreign vessels and many had not met. I remember one captain was called captain crash after he ran into another vessel on the west coast. Another was captain stuck who always seemed to find the nearest rock in miles of muddy bottom to wrap his net around. Life on these vessels is hard. I have been on a few Korean vessels and I take my hat off to any person who can live on them. Any loss of life at sea is one that should never happen. I know when we gather to remember those lost at sea at the annual blessing of the fleet in Nelson I will be thinking of these guys as well as my other friends that have been lost. As for tvnz they should acknowledge their sources.
RIP captain and crew. Calm seas and good fishing!

Ok Wayne,

Point taken, was just abit taken aback by the aparent callousness of the comments,I do apologise if offense was taken.
And yes kiwisailor they should acknowledge their sources.
RIP captain and crew, speedy recovery to those that survived.
