Grimaldi-group mystery vessels
« on: May 18, 2010, 05:59:44 AM »
In an internet list of the Italian flagged vessels (edition 2009) the following vessels are mentioned, as belonging to the Grimaldi-Group:
Grande Gabon built 10/2010
Grande Marocco built 1/2010 (also mentioned in sailing time tables but no pic to far)
Grande Congo built 6/2010
Grande Costa d'Avorio built 11/2010
Grande Sierra Leone 12/2010
Strait of Dover built 6/2010
Strait of Gibraltar built 8/2010
All are multi-purpose ro-ro's.
Any member know which yard is building these vessels?

Uljanik currently building last two ships from the series of seven ships.
Yard 482 GRANDE TOGO and yard 483 GRANDE COSTA D' AVORIO.
Other ships from the series for Grimaldi are : 472 GRANDE ANGOLA, 473 GRANDE GHANA, 474 GRANDE BENIN, 475 GRANDE SENEGAL and 476 GRANDE CAMEROON.
Hyundai Mipo are building other 5 ships from this series but I don't know the names.
Cheers :-)

Thank for this info. But what yardnumber is GRANDE GUINEA? Thought that that vessel was 483 instead of GRANDE COSTA D'AVORIO?

Next week the first new "Eurocargo" Class should be delivered from Hyundai. The name is EUROCARGO GENOVA and practically should be a mix in design and cargospace between the Visentini Shipyard buildings and the Flensburg buildings (the UN RoRo ferries...)
