Largest COSCON containership to enter CKYH Asia/Europe service
The largest containership to be operated by COSCO Container Lines (COSCON), the 8,204 teu COSCO China, will enter service at the beginning of December 2005 on Loop 1 of the CKYH Alliance Asia/Europe service network
During the first quarter of 2006, two further sister vessels are expected to be deployed on the same loop. All three are replacing ships around 5,300 teu capacity
COSCO China will leave Shanghai on December 4th, arriving at Rotterdam around December 29th
COSCON will also take delivery on long term charter from Costamare, five new 9,383 teu ships, starting in January 2006 through September 2006
CKYH partner, Yangming has nine 8,204 teu vessels on order, and the first two of these are expected in service in the third quarter 2006
The three COSCON newbuildings are being long term chartered from German shipowner, ER Schiffahrt
Loop 1 covers : Shanghai, Dalian, Qingdao, Singapore, Port Said, Rotterdam, Felixstowe, Hamburg, Antwerp, Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai
