This is the dredger that is due to arrive. How does she travel from job to job?

Will she need towing or does she have her own propellors for this?

Hi Brian

She has no propulsion - so has to be towed or carried from job to job.

Nothing on the PTA Schedules yet though  :-(

Hello All,

She's now ordered up for 0730 4th Nov (tomorrow).  Should be interesting.

Looks as though I will be on the Wrestler and Scottish steven will be on the barge.

Joy of joys.......

Hi Alan

She's lying off Seaham at the moment - showing up on AIS as doing 2.6knots. AIS Information on her is all to co*k - showing an ETA into the Tyne of 11/3/2010 19:00:00 UTC - guess you and Steven are going to have to hang around for a few months  :-o

Is she towing the Vesalius or just the Eide Barge 33?

Richard.

Hi Steve

That should be some sight. Sadly I'll be off to work by the time she comes in!

Richard.

Hi ,
some photos on here of the piline that will carry the material that has been dredged into Tyne Dock, cant see any booster pumps though :-

A photo of the barge with the dredger on in Spain before she sailed for the Tyne:-

thought this might be good for people to view while the dredging is going on  ,it is a webcam of the construction site , I have asked if they could zoom in a little bit more.
To navigate to it click on" North Entrance " then "riverside construction":-

Hi Brain,

The old man wasn't particularly interested.  Spent most of the time down below.  Not good :((

Anyway we got her in reasonably well and that's all that matters.
