Bhavnagar anchorage indeed is the second to last place for the vessels that are bound for the Alang beaches. Vessel's usually stay at Bhavnagar anchorage when all the final formalities are being done before beaching i.e. inspection by the authorities and buyers etc and afterwards waiting for the designated beaching tide.

Damn, what a shame. But it could be foreseen with the double hull laws on the books now. Maybe this is better than laying in some harbor as an engine-less hulk, like the Great Eastern of yore.

Good riddance to bad rubbish! Have seen this tanker so many time's, before and after the rubuildt. If she is going to the breakers it's a good thing. Rejoice!
It's not a requirement to be crazy to be a seaman, but it helps

Yes...finding a bank to stump up the dosh must be a challenge... prices over 340 bucks per LDT in India at present, so $27 million plus!

Happy Christmas to all

The vessel has now been beached.  Liner historian Peter Knego just posted an image of her dated today (4 January) on the front page of his site MidShipCentury (see bottom of page).
