hey everyone, the port of corpus christi is planning to build a brand new container terminal called the la quinta trade gateway. i am very excited about this new facility that will be big enough to service container ships. no construction has started yet but they are moving farward with designs and stuff. the terminal will not be located in the port area, insted it will be located along the la quinta ship channel between portland and the sherwin alumina plant near gregory. the site is about 1100 acers and based of early renderings i've seen on the port's website. it will have 3800 feet of continuious berthing, 9 container cranes (possibly post panamax) and also have an intermodal rail yard let me know your thoughts about this new project and what shipping compaines might express intrest in coming to this facility. one more thing, there were 3 L.N.G terminals alog the la quinta ship channel that were supposed to open this year but due to the economy, construction of these l.n.g terminals was put on hold. does anyone know what the current status of these l.n.g terminals are? please let me know. thank you.
