Silja Line's Ro-Pax Finnjet is to retire this week after 28 years in service. She will run her final voyage to Rostock today.

However, instead of going into layup at Falmouth as originally planned, she will be deployed to the hurricane-stricken Gulf coast of America as an accommodation ship. Whilst that's great for the people of New Orleans, it's bad news for me as I'm due to holiday in Falmouth next week  :-?

good evening Phil,

if I'm right, she passed the English Channel yesterday, heading for the Azores (eta Sept. 24 -afternoon) for bunkering, before crossing the Atlantic.
dead slow ahead !  :-)
best regards, Klaus
