Dutch general cargo ONEGO TRAVELLER (IMO: 9277345) was renamed to VENNENDIEP at Kotka, Finland on Monday Oct. 04th.
Also the sistership ONEGO MERCHANT (IMO: 9277321) will get her "own" name VRIESENDIEP back during the next days. She is bound for Oulu, Finland for Oct. 27th and should be there already as VRIESENDIEP.

Actually ONEGO MERCHANT was renamed to VRIESENDIEP at Hamina, Finland on October 29th. From there she continued to Oulu I mentioned above.

What I have been told is this: P&O is out of the company! Not one single vessel will ever cary a marking or a name remembering to P&O! Nedlloyd instead is a big firm with a big interest into the M

I'm not sure what you mean Henk. P&O Nedlloyd was itself an amalgamation of P&O and the Nedlloyd Group until bought outright by AP Moller-Maersk several years ago. The P&O Nedlloyd brand was completely dropped and all P&O Nedlloyd-named ships were gradually renamed, though some ships retained the "Nedlloyd" name prefix. This, as I say, happened several years ago.

Nedlloyd and P&O Nedlloyd no longer exist as operating companies, so there will be no new ships bearing such names. On the other hand, when Maersk purchased the liner division of Safmarine, they decided to retain the Safmarine brand, hence ships are still being built or renamed with "Safmarine" names.

That is right Phil, but also Nedlloyd up till now did not ended within the Maersk company! For some reason (taxes or newbuilding government money?) they will use that neme in the future. One vessel named a year and the government is ........
They never get when that vessel is renamed a year after. Got this what you ment?

I am sorry Henk, AP Moller completed the acquisition of P&O Nedlloyd in 2005 and in 2006, the merged company was renamed Maersk Line. Nedlloyd no longer exists as a ship operating entity.
