Hi Steve ,
as there is 4 anchors in the river off the rig she will need a anchor handler to lift them.

Hi Brian

Well she has been in the Tyne for so long now that I have forgotten how they sorted the anchors out when she arrived  :-o

When I passed by her on my 'cruise doon the river' last week she looked in good shape, canny paint job, although there was still scaffolding around her.

Maersk Assister was the anchor handler that laid the anchors Steve  , she is the same boat that snapped th MSC Napoli in half after the gun powder was used, very powerful vessel with about 22000 horsepower if I remember and over 200 tons bollard pull.

Hi,

I think we have to look North Sea Spot lists to see which AHT(S)s will perform the move of the NORTHERN PRODUCER. Yet no fixtures made.

A couple links to follow the latest spot market fixtures:

Hi msvnordica,

thanks for the links, they are good, have you seen the day rate for these vessels:-

Vidar Viking 13.10.2008 AGR / RM SS TO Prospect +opt GBP 175000
Odin Viking 12.10.2008 Senergy / RM SS Byford Dolphim GBP 175000
Viking Troll 12.10.2008 Senergy / RM SS Byford Dolphim GBP 150000
Balder Viking 11.10.2008 AGR / RM SS Paul B. Lloyd GBP 175000

These vessels have many times left the Tyne with rigs and FPSO in the past, I used to call them tiger boats as they have a yellow hull with a black diagnol stripes.

Hi all,

If anyone is interested, i doubt Maersk Assister will be taking the rig out as she has one of them cranes on her stern. Or maybe they can still tow with the cranes attached? I seen her in Teesbay today, she is due back onto the Tees this evening.

Just to show you what the crane looks like, Maersk Advancer with stern crane.

Hi Nathan

Well the Northern Producers Estimated departure is being moved back a day at a time on the Port of Tyne Authority Movements Schedules so its anyone's guess when she will depart
Oddly enough AIS is showing a ping from a vessel that is either alongside the Rig or it might be the Rig itself -        MMSI      19205. However the Rig has an IMO Number so I reckon it must be some other vessel alongside?

Maersk Advancer is probably on a contract , the ships for Northern Producer might already be doing other work at the site were the rig is going to work, I know that preparation work for the rig has been carried out, Steve the rig should have its own AIS as I often pick up rigs on my receviever. It looks as if there is not a vessel alongside the rig:-

http://www.tynecams.co.uk/index.htm?cam=west

This story gives the area were the Northern Producer is going to, seems like a canny tow:-

Hi Brian

The ship you mention is now the    SEVEN PELICAN - see Sydney's photograph of her @ http://www.shipspotting.com/modules/myalbum/photo.php?lid=746886

She is an Offshore Support Vessel and her full specs can be seen on the Subsea 7 web site @ http://www.subsea7.com/v_specs.php?page_id=v_39 - just download the pdf file.

Piers in at 12.37 and currently at    RSQ EAST. Estimated departure is on the  27th October.

Anyone know if she has AH capabilities?

Regards

Evening Gents
Sorry to spoil your excitment but the Seven Pelican has been a very high tec 'Deep Dive Support Vessel' for some time now owned by Subsea 7 Vessel Management.
An anchor handling vessel would also look much differant not to mention the  special dive support crane now mounted aft.
Mike :-)
