Hyundai Fortune - what ever was resolved??
« on: October 08, 2007, 06:29:34 PM »
I haven't read anything else about her since the salvage work was finished.  What, if anything, was ever resolved regarding what actually was the cause of the original explosion(s)??  I understood that they pretty well concluded that stowed fireworks were likely *not* the cause, but beyond that I had only seen hypotheses and guesses.  Have they managed to look closer and come to any good conclusions??

I think they will never publish a thing about it. Maybe Hyundai and the Politicians are very happy, when there are not so much discussions about piracy and terrorism at sea.
Probably it was a bomb or some hot explosives, I think it was. But I think as well that if it was only fireworks the salvors would have published much more stuff about their work. Probably they were kept quiet. I dont know.
I guess if it was really a bomb we will wait for informations till the day we die  :-?

No discussion - No interest/No focus.. Maybe she s already scrapped  :-D

the latest news I've heard:

"Reported sold to Clients of Goldenport on 9 June 2006 for US$ 30m."

from shipping intelligence network (clarkson)

I'm far away from the sea to Hamburg I have a longer distance as to Venice or Genova. My favorite is the Suez Canal, Panama Canal and since 2006 also Chinese harbours.
