Emma Maersk @ 1/700
« on: August 05, 2007, 05:42:49 PM »
Does anyone think it would be possible to find plans/drawings of Emma Maersk? My model will be waterlined (I couldn't get anthing for below the waterline even if I wanted to...) The most important thing at the moment is an overhead view of the ship, showing the layout of the deck and superstructure. Thanks in advance.

Avery

Will try to take pictures of a Emma Maersk scale model.

Maersk offices around the world can request scale models of ships from the Centre (Maersk Copenhagen). The local office here has one.

Hi, guys. :-)
I'm normally building subs, but since I've got 3 brothers sailing for Maersk, I have begun to build a 1:220 scale, RC model of Emma Maersk. Plans are impossible to find, and Maersk, though very very friendly, cannot give any measurements but length and beam. (For competitive reasons). I asked them about the superstructure width and hight etc, so the very basics was in place, but nope...

I have maybe two images showing the underwaterhull, but since my model will be RC, the underwaterhull is a bit out of my scope. The two images are from a professional model makers web, but even they could not share information.
(Had signed a non-disclosure, I guess)

I would be happy to team up, though you are far ahead of me in terms of the amount of research done!

Hi again :-)

Great! I guess you have looked al of the images through on my site, but if you'd like I can email you some of them, or all.
Drawings so far is restricted to a few not true to scale, just for gathering details, so I'll remember them all from the pictures. Would you have any new images, drawings or so?
Data really needed is the accurate measurements of the superstructure(s), and a top view of the entire ship for outline(s). After that, oh.. there is a lot of black spots on the map, so to speak.

Drop me a mail at [email protected] and I'll reply with what I can help you with. :-)
Yours Sincerely,
Robert Holsting

Reference the interest in the Emma Maersk .I am an amateur model boat enthusiast and constantly " trawling " the internet. To my knowledge the only company to advertise a kit of the Emma Maersk  is on the following web site

www.modelshipmaster.com

Click on to the icon cargo ships [left hand side of page ]  scroll down the list of vessels and Emma Maersk[ in kit form !!! ] is due for release about september time. The kits are very good but expensive . Best of luck in your hunt for information .Cheers pnl

Hi :-)

Yep, it's quite close that they can offer this model for sale, actual pre-sale are open now.
But.. while it's a fine model, I do whish that they had spent more time on acurate detailing.. I'm sorry to say, but it is quite a bit off on several key areas.

Yours sincerely,
