Hi all,

The Princess was surveyed at Bergen on or about 30th April and there was some damage to the bow doors.  She is now at Imjuiden having the doors and associated machinery cleaned ready for a detailed inspection, to enable plans to be drawn up for a full repair.

Isn't the internet a wonderful source of information?

Lol

That is correct, she will not sail out today. IF she would sail, she goes to the other side of the terminal (on the right of the webcam). So tomorrow they will be together again I think..  :-P

Hi Lars

According to the Port of Tyne Authority movement schedules @
http://www.portoftyneonline.co.uk/harbour/expected_shipping.asp she is due into North Shields on 4th July 2007 at 09.00.

Odd that there isn't anything by way of explanation on the DFDS web site!!!

Hi ,
if you look on this website:-
http://www.portoftyne.co.uk/sitepage.aspx?id=78
And click on shipping history ,at the bottom of the page it tells you what time the Queen came in.

Also check the web cam out now and you will see her , be quick as she is due to sail at 23.30

Also this her history on AIS:_
http://www.aisliverpool.org.uk/shiptrail.php?mmsi=219013000

This is a surfcam on the North side of the Tyne at a place Called Cullercoats it  might be possible to see the Queen come in on here.

Hope this is of help to all

As this presumably means stripping of all lubricants, paint, corrosion etc. she might be there for some time yet....and then there is the repair.....

A bit of an update:-

The Princess has now bee examined at Imjuiden and has been authorised to make one round trip Ijmuiden-Newcastle-Ijmuiden, subject to a maximum speed of 12 knots and also to being routed along the "sheltered area" along the English Coast. Condition of the bow doors is to be monitored at all times.  Conditions attached also say that any failure to do this will lead to suspension of the classification certificate. (Above from the DNV Exchange).

HI Everyone
Any more news on the Princess
DFDS like P&O use 3 diffrent routes The shelterd route is used mainly in bad weather If she has to be withdrawn due to suspension of certificate or major work to her bow doors it could not come at a worse time ( A friend at DFDS says that bookings this year are up)
One good thing about slower speed it gives you more time at the BAR

Seen the Princess mooring up at about 10 15 , so she could not have going that slow (12 knots max).

behttp://www.portoftyneonline.co.uk/harbour/shipping_history.asen

I have just checked the  AIS and she is doing 19.6 Knots off Teeside:_-
