The first officer of a Cyprus-flagged Skarpoe which grounded in the Baltic Sea on Tuesday has been arrested on suspicion of being drunk.
The man was released on Tuesday pending further investigations having given a blood sample to Danish police, the Cyprus Mail reported.
If the officer is found to be have been over the legal blood-alcohol limit while operating the 4,400-dwt multi-purpose vessel Skarpoe (built 2005), which grounded off the Danish island of Bronholm, he may face criminal charges.
