"Ocean Caroline" is listing 40 degrees, as result of shell plating fracure. Eight crew is evacuated safely by Navy  chopper to Gdynia. Petrobaltic "Afrodita", 2 swedish trawlers and SAR vessel are on site, ready to assist with evacuation of remaining 4 crew members who are trying to save the ship.

Strong winds (7 deg. Beuafort scale) does not help their efforts. No spillage has been reported so far.

According to EQUASIS, the OCEAN CAROLINE is a RoRo ship.
She has been arrested in the last 4 years 3 times by port state control for various reasons...

Some 2 hours ago it was reported that the remaining crew had abandoned the ship. The ship is now being towed by a Swedish trawler. It is still taking in water and has a 40 degree list. The trawler and Ocean Caroline will reach Karlskrona, Sweden sometime tonight.

It's always a pity the lost of an old glory.
All those old vessels were and are so very beautiful
and every time one sinks or broke up, I feel so sorry. :-(

The stroke of time is worse that the worst storm.
Does anyone knows where the love of God goes
when the waves turn minutes into hours

The ship had at least good luck. A Swedish trawler towed the ship which was listing up to 45 degrees to port into Karlskrona port on Feb 26.

Hello all, spotted her today in IJmuiden (Neth.) Is now named captain Mikhalis and flag is Greek. With regards to the shiptype, everybody is right. She is a Ro/Ro but must have refridgerating capability since she's loading fish here wit the aft crane onto the ramp.
