Hello Klaus,

I like the new design. However, some of the ships which had classification information, now don't. I hope this is not a permanent change but just a transition phase...

Brgds,
Aleksi

Klaus

I didn't have to register again - just entered my user name and password, and got straight in.

On the plus side, there is now a 'history' tab, which gives details of previous names without having to access the classification society's website.

Hi
I now use this site more often than before. I found that I didn't have to sign up again. Also on the histories, the ships I have looked at, don't have all the former names, just the last two. Why I don't know, but I have enquired on the site about this, and await a reply from someone at the site.

Regards
Karl

goolio,

the same history function was there already in the old version, it's a pity it only shows the history from the year 2000 upwards...

Brgds,
Aleksi

Equasis is much better for me, genoeses in italy are like scotsmen in england  :-)

The fleet page is still there if you look at the ship manager and click on details on the right,
the the fleet list will be available above.

Click "Detalis" in row "Ship Manager" and next "Fleet info".

Hi All
I found the new format a bit lacking. I could not find the Ships Register pages for each vessel. There was only a reference to the Korean Register of Shipping on one vessel I researched. It was a free site thankfully. I maintain a database of each ship I photograph. Now I miss out on a lot of info such as DWT, LOA, & so on. I filled out their survey asking what I think about the new concept & left my opinion. No reply yet! I don't think they are too concerned with the enthusiest. As their info is really for the benefit of companies who use ships for transporting cargo. If everyone who used the register page filled out the survey maybe they will listen. Who knows?
rgds to all of you
Peter

As of this afternoon, the Class Society links that were there in thr old version have been re-established.

Equasis is the EU- directive safety-related database and is not really designed to benefit enthusiasts or charterers for that matter. The ship details are sourced from LR Fairplay who stipulate that only very basic details can be used. As everyone probably knows, LR Fairplay are shipping information providers who have their own on-line data systems and the original "Lloyds Register of Ships". It is therefore not in their interests to have Equasis showing all the data for free that other people pay a fortune for.

It does take some time to get used to the new format, the links still appear to be there just not as obvious as they perhaps had been.  Under classification societies there is a heading details and that links to the full vessel details on the ships I have been researching.
